Begin your multi-day adventure with a relaxing morning cruise aboard the Victoria Clipper to Victoria, BC. In the morning, pick up a quick rental from Budget (5-minute walk from Clipper’s Victoria terminal) and drive along Vancouver Island’s scenic coastline to Painter’s Lodge. Leave your car behind and hop on the water taxi to April Point Lodge on Quadra Island. Spend the rest of the day watching magnificent orca whales leap out of the waters of the Johnstone Strait.

Cruise through the shimmering fjords of Desolation Sound on your exclusive, five-and-a-half-hour whale watching tour on Campbell River. With your expert guide at the wheel, journey through the Johnstone Strait area, heart of orca whale country, with stops at several known whale watching hot spots including Kelsey Bay, Sayward and Robson Bight. Keep an eye out for whales, eagles, dolphins and sea lions and listen as your guide provides excellent education on each species.

Brunch on West Coast cuisine while you soak in stunning mountain and water vistas in the April Point Dining room before boarding a Hurricane zodiac for a three-hour wildlife adventure tour. Under the guidance of a trained naturalist, you will cruise through the Discovery Islands in search of black bears, Steller sea lions, herons and more. As you pass Mitlenatch Island, watch for the largest seabird colony in the Strait of Georgia, which is full of Pelagic cormorants, black oystercatchers and many other species of birds.

In the morning, hop on a serene water taxi to Campbell River, followed by a scenic drive back to Victoria, where you’ll be able to shop the array of unique boutiques Johnson Street learn about Victoria’s rich history at the Royal BC Museum. In the evening, conclude your trip with a relaxing Clipper cruise back into Seattle.
