    Job Summary:

    The General Manager for Clipper Cargo will define the cargo business strategic goals, establish key relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions. This position will manage existing relationships and customers to ensure business growth and opportunity. If you have entrepreneurial spirit and are interested in building a new Cargo business for Clipper, this is the opportunity for you.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      Strategic Business Planning, Cargo Logistics and Operations

    • Utilize proven track record with 3rd party logistics to establish strategic goals, including financial model to establish and grow the Clipper Cargo business.
    • Define operational model for cargo movement between the U.S. and Canada.
    • Create the Clipper Cargo business plan incorporating knowledge of the market and competitors, sales targets and growth, pipeline of new business, creation of the solutions/services the company can provide, identification and development of Clipper Cargo unique selling propositions and differentiators, and opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to increased revenue.
      • Account Management and Sales

      • Build, maintain, and leverage business and professional networks to grow the Clipper Cargo business, including relationships with local and regional government representatives.
      • Plan persuasive approaches and opportunities that will convince potential customers to do business with Clipper Cargo.
      • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with Clipper operations.
      • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
      • Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions, services and support to advance the Cargo business.
      • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations.
        Required Skills and Experience

      • 8-10 years marketing, sales and/or business development experience.
      • Experience with transportation logistics and operations required, preferable cross border between the U.S. and Canada.
      • Experience in strategic business planning and driving execution against plan.
      • Strong analytical skills required.
      • Proven track record driving sales, revenue growth and account management required.
      • Proven track record in networking, persuasion, identifying customer needs and closing deals.
      • Strong project management skills desired.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication required.
      • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
        Education

      • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, MBA is preferred.

    Clipper Vacations is seeking a motivated and aggressive Sales Manager who will drive sales of Clipper travel destination product offerings direct to consumers and indirectly to business partners. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record increasing sales revenue by securing new business, effectively managing the sales pipeline and management of existing accounts. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers medical, dental and other benefits.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

      Strategy and Market Analysis

    • Create strategy for the Clipper Group Sales business that incorporates knowledge of the market and competitors, sales targets and growth, pipeline of new business, creation of the solutions/services the company can provide, identification and development of Clipper Group Sales unique selling propositions and differentiators, and opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to increased revenue.
    • Identify and help design product to significantly increase revenue for the Clipper Group Sales business.
      • Sales and Account Management

      • Solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, direct mail, referrals, networking, internet prospecting, etc.) to maximize revenues to meet/exceed goals.

      • Notify and coordinate customer specifications with other departments to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects.
      • Maintain and leverage a professional network that will help grow overall revenue.
      • Close new business deals by developing and negotiating contracts and integrating requirements across the Clipper Navigation business.
      • Provide sales forecasts and report key sales data.
      • Ensure company is represented, as necessary at industry trade events, shows, receptions, training presentations.
      • Update job knowledge and skills by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations.
        • Qualifications and Required Skills:

        • Minimum of 8 years direct sales experience to businesses and consumers required.
        • Experience in sales strategy planning and driving execution against plan.
        • Strong analytical skills required.
        • Proven track record driving sales, revenue growth and account management required.
        • Proven track record in networking, persuasion, identifying customer needs, negotiating and closing deals.
        • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
        • Proven ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
        • Regional travel may be required
        • Proficient with MS Office & CRM Tools such as ACT! or Sales Force
        • 4 year degree, preferably in related field

    The Victoria Clipper is a high-speed, passenger only catamaran ferry that runs daily service between Seattle, WA and Victoria, British Columbia. We operate year-round, with a busy peak season from April through September.

    We are looking for fun, upbeat and driven professionals to join our team of crew members for our 2015 summer season. This is a seasonal position starting June 16, 2015 with availability to work through September 20.

    The On Board Attendant position allows you to enjoy a fun, rewarding and challenging job, working on the water and meeting new friends. Our mission is to create amazing memories for our customers. Your primary job will involve high interaction with passengers and providing excellent customer service. On Board Attendants are responsible for passenger comfort and safety; food and beverage service; sightseeing reservations; luggage handling; and limited mariner duties. An emphasis is applied to selling Clipper products while underway and taking every available opportunity to promote these sales and reach team sales goals. All shifts begin and end at Pier 69 on the Seattle waterfront. Enjoy the beautiful destination of Victoria, British Columbia!

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Job Requirements:

    • Possess a US Passport, Passport Card or Enhanced Driver’s License for entry into Canada and re-entry into the U.S.
    • We are unable to hire applicants that have prior DUI/DWI, negligent driving or felony convictions as this may impede entry into Canada
    • Pass a required Pre-Employment Drug Screen (including Marijuana) and submit to random USCG drug tests
    • 19 years or older and able to lift 70 lbs
    • Commit to work at least through Sept 7, 2015 or complete a minimum 3 month contract if you are a student returning to school in August.
    • Position is Full-Time and must be available to work any shift, including weekends and holidays

    On Board Attendants are paid on a progressive pay schedule. Average earnings are $15.80/hr which is $12.00/hr, plus commissions and tips. A parking and transportation subsidy is provided upon hire. Full medical, dental, vision and travel benefits are offered to those who become year-round employees.

    The Café Clerk is responsible for providing a high level of customer service and food and beverage quality while ensuring that safe food handling practices are adhered to. This job is a part time/full time seasonal position from April-September.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Demonstrates prompt and friendly customer service
    • Maintains a positive work environment
    • Prepares espresso, coffee and related beverages
    • Operates point of sales system and handles cash and credit card payments
    • Ensures consistency and quality of café products
    • Prepares sandwiches to order
    • Assists in maintaining all equipment in safe working condition
    • Assists with inventory and with unloading and stocking of café supplies
    • Strict adherence to all safety and health regulations
    • Answers phones and takes special orders
    • Assists Café Supervisor as required

    • General housekeeping; cleans and sanitizes work area (including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.) as well as dining room
    • Other related duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • High school diploma or equivalent and experience working in coffee bar, restaurant, or related field; or an acceptable combination of education and experience
    • Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude are essential to interact with customers and employees
    • Reliable and dependable; ability to follow direction
    • Good communication skills; outgoing and friendly demeanor
    • Ability to perform repetitious activities
    • Valid King County Food Handler’s Permit

    Physical Requirements

    • Must be at least 18 years of age
    • Able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends
    • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time; occasional walking; climbing a step stool
    • Repetitive arm and hand movements; manual dexterity to wrap, package and stock product up to 30 lbs
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently; push and pull up to 100 lbs
    • Must have good vision, for this position requires working with sharp knives, slicer, box cutter and related equipment; will need to determine spoiled or damaged product

    This job has specific physical requirements that may require you to lift up to 50 lbs, to operate machinery with moving mechanical parts, bend, reach, kneel, squat, stand of a long period of time, or push/pull heavy loads. Qualified candidates will be contacted.
