  • arrowSeasonal Reservation Agent
    Clipper Vacations is looking for hard-working, organized, and upbeat people to join our team of Reservation Agents. We are currently seeking seasonal employees available to begin working on June 13th, and able to commit to at least 90 days.This is a great opportunity for college students looking for a summer job they can return to in future seasons!

    Summary of Key Responsibilities (not limited to the following):

    • Make custom vacation packages and reservations for Victoria Clipper passengers who call us or come in to the terminal.
    • Provide friendly insight to people asking for local information and recommendations.
    • Check-in passengers before they travel on Clipper vessels.
    • Ensure that customers are informed of important rules and regulations for international travel and that they have correct identification and travel documents.
    • Day to day administrative duties to keep the reservations office operating smoothly.

    Qualifications and Skills Required:

    • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
    • Ability to travel regionally and in Canada
    • Ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to stay calm in any situation
    • Citizen of the U.S. or have the legal right to be employed in the U.S.
    • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Travel/Hospitality experience
    • Sales experience; up-selling is an integral part of this position
    • Professional phone experience, preferably with a multi-line phone or in a call center setting

    Schedule: Reservation Agents are scheduled 40 hours per week between the hours of 5:45 AM and 10:15 PM, seven days a week, including holidays. Shifts may change from week to week and may include both weekend days. The training class for seasonal Reservation Agents will begin on June 13h, 2016.

    Compensation: Hourly rate of $13.50 plus commission. Transportation stipend provided.

    Are you a night person? Do you enjoy listening to music while you work? Clipper has an opening for a Seasonal Night Custodian / Dock Hand position. We are looking for candidates with one year experience in cleaning and janitorial work.

    Summary of Key Responsibilities (not limited to the following):

    • Custodian: Detail clean the boats and the terminal from top to bottom, including disinfecting, sanitizing, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, wet-mopping, floor waxing, dusting and empty trash/recycling to collection bins.
    • Dock Hand: Handle mooring lines, operate the luggage crane, luggage handling, provide security to the facility. No Dock Hand experience? No problem. We will train you!

    Qualifications and Skills Required:

    • An eye for detail and a commitment to high standards
    • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks, independently and in a team, little or no supervision
    • Punctual, reliable and trustworthy is key
    • Ability to remain awake and alert throughout the night shift is required
    • Bending, stooping, crawling, lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, pushing / pulling up to 60 pounds manually

    Hours: Full time, Seasonal 4:30pm to 3:30am – alternating work weeks from Sunday to Tuesday/Wednesday. Enjoy 3 or 4 days off each week!

    Compensation: $14.50 per hour

    Qualifications and Skills Required:

    • U.S. Passport, Passport Card or Enhanced Driver’s License for entry into Canada and re-entry into U.S.
    • No prior DUI/DWI, negligent driving or felony convictions as this may impede entry into Canada
    • Pass a required Pre-Employment Drug Screen (including Marijuana) and submit to random USCG drug tests
    • Able to lift 70lbs
    • Available to work any shift, including weekends and holidays

    The Shore Support team is responsible for preparing cargo manifests, shipping, receiving, ordering and distribution of vessel stock. Shore Support also performs dockhand duties such as line handling, crane and pallet jack operation, as well as light janitorial duties. No dockhand experience? We will train you.
