The passenger-only round-trip fare for the San Juan Clipper ferry from Seattle to Friday Harbor ranges from $100 USD – $142 USD for an advance purchase depending on the time of year. The Seattle to San Juan Island ferry operates various service between May 28 – October 10.

Do you need a passport to take the ferry from Seattle to San Juan Island?
No, San Juan Island is located inside the United States and does not require a passport for travel between Seattle and San Juan Island.

A $2.60 pp/RT Port fee and $8 pp/RT Health & Security fee will be added to all Friday Harbor fares, until further notice.

Whale watching tour departs Friday Harbor at 12:15 pm and returns to Friday Harbor at 2:45 pm.

Ferry Only: Round trip fares are for day trips only. Overnight fares are priced as two one ways.

Child Advisory: Due to the time spent on the boat during the nearly 12 hour San Juan Island day trip with Whale Watching, it is not recommended for children under 6. Adults traveling with young children should plan accordingly by bringing books, videos, games, toys etc. to assist in keeping them occupied.

Passenger Only: Ferry Service between Seattle/San Juan Island are passenger service only. No vehicles.

Getting Around San Juan Island

The San Juan Clipper is a passenger-only ferry. Depending on the duration of your trip and the things you want to do while you’re in town, you may want to rent a car, moped, or bicycle. But if you’re only planning to stay on the island for a few hours, exploring on foot is perfectly reasonable. Our San Juan Clipper ferry dock in Friday Harbor is also conveniently located right next to the WA State Ferry dock, making it easy for inter-island connections between Orcas, Shaw and Lopez islands.
