San Juan Island Cruise Sample Itinerary

8:15 AM Depart Pier 69 in Seattle – Skip the long lines in Anacortes and hop on the San Juan Clipper to enjoy the only ferry experience that takes you straight from downtown Seattle to Friday Harbor.

12:00 PM Arrive in Friday Harbor – Nothing works up an appetite quite like breathtaking views of the Puget Sound. Head over to Spring Street Deli for a delicious sandwich followed by a refreshing scoop of ice cream at Friday Harbor Ice Cream.

1:30 PM Visit the Lime Kiln Lighthouse – Rent a moped from Susie’s Mopeds and scoot down to the famous Lime Kiln Lighthouse, one of the best places to catch sight of whales and wildlife from the shore.

3:00 PM Explore Pelindaba Lavender Farm or Cattle Point Lighthouse – Travel about 3.5 miles down West Side Road to the 25-acre Pelindaba Lavender Farm and discover 50 varieties of fragrant blooms. Another great option is to cruise down to check out the bluffs and trails at Cattle Point Lighthouse on the southern tip of San Juan Island.

4:30 PM Learn at the Orca Survey Outreach and Education Center – Venture back to Friday Harbor and visit the Center for Whale Research’s brand-new Orca Survey Outreach and Education Center. Dive deep on the state of Southern Resident orcas from locals on the front lines of research. Another fun option is to hop over to San Juan Island Brewing Company for a cold one before your trip home.

5:15 PM Depart Friday Harbor – After a day of exploring around this laid-back island, enjoy a relaxing ride back to downtown Seattle.

8:00 PM Arrive Seattle – Disembark the ferry and enjoy the rest of your evening on the Seattle waterfront!
