Make your trip to the 2026 Royal Victoria Marathon part of the experience with a scenic journey aboard the Victoria Clipper. Registered participants and their travel companions can save 40% on passenger fares when departing Seattle October 8–10, 2026, giving your running crew, friends or family an easier way to travel together.

Depart from downtown Seattle and arrive in Victoria’s Inner Harbour, close to downtown hotels, the Race Expo and the start and finish area for Sunday’s events. Use promo code RVMARATHON26 when booking. At least one registered Royal Victoria Marathon participant must be included in the reservation and travel with the group. Proof of race registration is required at check-in.

Sample Royal Victoria Marathon Itinerary

Depart Pier 69 in downtown Seattle and settle in for a scenic cruise across the Salish Sea to Victoria’s Inner Harbour. After arriving, check into your hotel and head to the Royal Victoria Marathon Race Expo at Crystal Garden to pick up your race package.

Use the evening to explore downtown Victoria, enjoy dinner near the Inner Harbour and relax before the weekend’s events. The Race Expo and package pickup are open Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Participants in the Island Savings 5K and Thrifty Foods Kids Run can head to Willows Beach Park for Saturday morning’s races. Those preparing for Sunday can enjoy a slower day exploring Victoria.

Add a visit to The Butchart Gardens to experience the changing autumn color, browse the shops along Government Street or take an easy walk through the Inner Harbour and Beacon Hill Park. The Butchart Gardens is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in October.

If you did not collect your race package Friday, return to Crystal Garden before package pickup closes at 6:00 p.m. Then enjoy an early dinner and settle in for race day.

The Westland Insurance 8K begins at 7:15 a.m., followed by the Royal Victoria Marathon and Outway Half Marathon at 8:15 a.m. The Sunday races start and finish near the Legislative Grounds in the heart of downtown Victoria.

After crossing the finish line, celebrate your accomplishment, return to your hotel and make your way to the nearby FRS Clipper terminal. Depart Victoria at 5:00 p.m. for a relaxing cruise home, arriving in downtown Seattle at 7:45 p.m.

Runners who would rather have more time to recover can extend their stay and return to Seattle the following day.
