Ghostly walking tours are available throughout much of the year in Victoria. But from October 1-November 2 in 2025, there’s a\u00a0Halloween tour<\/a> that includes an hour of particularly gruesome tales. The haunted stroll begins from Market Square with the exact route changing every year. No matter which road you take, sinister sights and scary stories are a given.<\/p>\n

Your frightening journey will typically take you down creepy alleyways, through cemeteries, and along notorious Humboldt Street, the home of St. Ann’s Academy. One of the most haunted places in Victoria, the former convent and boarding school was built in 1858. Its towering steeple looms over rows of perfectly manicured beech trees, beckoning in those who dare.<\/p>\n

Haunted Horse & Carriage Halloween Tours<\/b><\/h2>\n

How about mixing a little old-fashioned fun with a<\/span> horse-drawn haunted Halloween tour<\/span><\/a>? You might even notice a bit of a “Sleepy Hollow” vibe. Although in this case, we can assure you the horse will have its head. But what we can’t guarantee is that you won’t be scared stiff. After all, this is when the barrier between the world of the living and the dead at it’s thinnest. That means sightings are more likely!<\/span><\/p>\n

The chilling one-hour ride (October 1-31, 2025) will bring you to some of Victoria’s most infamous sites, pulled by a beautiful draft horse adorned in ribbons and bass (said to ward off evil). Beware, there will be spine-tingling tails of everything from restless spirits to haunted buildings!<\/p>\n

Craigdarroch Castle After-Hours Tour<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The imposing<\/span> Craigdarroch Castle<\/span> sits high atop a hill overlooking Victoria with stained-glass windows and elegant Victorian furnishings. While it’s a stunning vision, there are also some rather dark tales that surround the four-story stone structure and the Dunsmuir family who once lived here.<\/span><\/p>\n

For Halloween, visitors can take a 90-minute after-hours tour, “<\/span>Curiosities of Craigdarroch<\/span><\/a>.” Taking place Friday through Sunday through Halloween, starting October 10, the excursion explores the more sinister aspects of the Victorian-era and the experiences of the Dunsmuirs, from eerie gatherings to tragedy and death.<\/span><\/p>\n

Zombie Walk<\/h2>\n

Looking to burn off all the sweets you’re bound to eat during the Halloween season? Join the annual Zombie Walk<\/a>. Held on October 19 in 2025, “Zombies” will start gathering in Centennial Square around 2 p.m. They’ll start walking (or dragging) by 3 p.m. Just witnessing the grisly monsters as they make their way from the square at Parliament Building is worth attending. But beware! If you’re aren’t careful, you could find yourself “infected.” Then again, if you can’t beat ’em, why not join ’em?<\/p>\n

Halloween at the Farm<\/h2>\n

Bilston Creek Farm<\/a> hosts all kinds of Halloween fun over two weekends in October: the 18th and 19th, and the 25th and 26th. Less than a 30-minute drive from downtown Victoria in Metchosin, bring the family to decorate pumpkins, enjoy games and activities like a treasure hunt (and maybe win a prize!), and much more. Be sure to bring your sweettooth for all the special Halloween treats, including fresh-dipped caramel apples. Plus, if it’s chilly out, you can warm up with hot apple cider made with apples from the farm’s own orchard, hot chocolate, tea, or coffee.<\/p>\n

Candlelight Concert: Halloween Classics<\/h2>\n

Enjoy haunting Halloween classics<\/a> performed live by candlelight in Christ Church Cathedral on October 24 in 2025. The venue will be dramatically lit while offering a live, multi-sensory musical experience. The program features everything from the “Beetlejuice” and “Halloween” theme to the prelude to “Psycho” and the medley from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Get your tickets ASAP, as this popular all-ages event sells out quickly!<\/p>\n

For family-friendly Halloween fun, head to the Haunted Manor Victoria<\/a>. More Tim Burton-esque than Friday the 13th, its creator aimed for thrilling but playful spookiness. It’s immersive, interactive mini-golf with a Halloween twist as visitors putt their way through 18 holes of a ghoulish story. Furthermore, you’ll witness the “carnage of the Pumpkin King’s sorcery as he casts his spell in every room. It all begins on September 22 and runs through November 2, 2025.<\/p>\n

Old Cemeteries Society Sunday Tours<\/strong><\/h2>\n

While the Old Cemeteries Society<\/a> offers Sunday tours throughout much of the year, the ghost tour is one of its most popular. Held on October 26 in 2025, it’s all based on ghost stories connected to those buried at Ross Bay Cemetery. Overlooking Ross Bay in the Fairfield neighborhood, the cemetery contians the graves of prominent Victoria figures, including artist Emily Carr, the first BC governor, and Sir James Douglas. Beware, some of the “residents” might even come to life to tell their tales!<\/p>\n

The Greater Victoria Festival Society hosts the annual Wicked Victoria<\/a> event along Government Street, from Yates to Broughton, and in Bastion Square. Live local music, over 90 local vendors, plenty of tasty eats, trick-or-treating for the kids, face painting, storytelling, and bouncy castles included!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Haunted Halloween Show & Party<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Haunted Halloween Show & Party<\/a> is a uniquely spooky event for those 19+ only. If a fusion of Tinseltown glam and cult horror intrigue, you won’t want to miss it! Kicking off at 6 p.m. on October 25 in 2025 at Crystal Garden, it’s billed as “part epic Halloween bash and part jaw-dropping dance show.” Don your most creative costume as there will be prizes for the most freaky, daring, and fabulous. This one is truly epic, with DJs, dance styles from burlesque and funk to hip hop and jazz, red-carpet moments for photo ops, games, a “Peep show” and much more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Businesses from Foul Bay Road to Monterey Avenue will be passing out plenty of tasty treats from 2 to 5 p.m. Plus, there will be a variety of entertainment, including live music, stilt walkers, hula hoopers, jugglers, target pratice with a fire hose, and more. There will be a costume contest for the kids with celebrity judges and prizes. And, you don’t have to leave your four-legged best friend at home either. In fact, Fido and Fluffy can participate so bring them in their finest Halloween duds for the pet costume contest!<\/p>\n

Halloween Bar Crawl<\/h2>\n

The Halloween Bar Crawl<\/a> is one of Victoria’s zaniest Halloween celebrations. And, you can enjoy it right on Halloween, October 31, or Day of the Dead, November 1, in 2025. You’ll enjoy access to at least four of the city’s hottest bars and nightclubs, with live DJs playing hits and Halloween classics.
