The sun’s warm rays, clear blue skies, snow-capped mountains everywhere you look and glistening cerulean waters – you couldn’t ask for more perfect ingredients for a fabulous day on the water. Just when you think it couldn’t possibly get any better, the telltale puffs of steam or dorsal fin cutting through the water catches your eye.

Before you know it, our cherished orca locals have surfaced, signaling hello with a playful slap of the tail. This feature is a peek into the joy and exhilaration of seeing these magnificent creatures for the first time on a Clipper whale watching trip from Seattle to the San Juan Islands.
