Wine-By-Cougars Wine Tour

The WSUAA’s incredibly popular wine club, Wine-By-Cougars, has showcased over 28 Cougar-connected wineries from across the state. Now you can visit four of these WSU Alumni wineries, sample the superb hand-crafted wines they produce, tour their winemaking facilities, and discover how WSU Alumni have played such a big role in the state’s booming wine industry.

Spend a fabulous day in the Yakima Valley and experience the incredible wines that have helped to build its reputation for innovative winemaking techniques and award-winning wines.

Your motor coach tour departs from South Bellevue Park & Ride at 7:45 am. Relax as you enjoy your breakfast en-route as a staff member from WSU’s Viticulture and Enology department fills you in on some interesting wine facts, wine tasting tips, and general information about the area you will be visiting.

Cougar Wine Tour

Your first stop will be at the Fidelitas Winery. Fidelitas is a family-owned winery faithful to Cabernet Sauvignon, loyal to Bordeaux winemaking techniques, and true to Washington state’s Columbia Valley terroir. Next, it’s on to Kiona Vineyards & Winery where you will enjoy a 4-course winemaker’s lunch and pairing. Your third stop will be the magnificent Col Solare Winery, where you will have a chance to sample their best wines and tour the winery. This refined state-of-the-art winery was constructed from sustainable materials. Panoramic views reveal the landscape of the Columbia Valley and Horse Heaven Hills below. Lastly, your trip concludes with a stop at Kestrel Vintners, where you will be met by the winemaker for a hour of wine tasting and hors d’oeuvres before embarking on your way back home.
