Summer weekends. If you are like us, these two-day, 48 hour (or maybe 55 hours if you are able to sneak out of work early on a Friday) windows of time are what we live for and spend our work weeks dreaming about. While they may seem painfully short, if you are lucky enough to live here in the Pacific Northwest, you don’t have to take a flight to the other side of the earth for a chance to get out and explore.

Discover Clipper Getaways

From rushing waterfalls and active volcanoes to the fine wine of Woodinville and the refreshing beer of “little Bavaria,”  there are a host of unique adventures waiting for you right in your own backyard. Hit the road for a culinary adventure, check out the chance to get up close and personal with amazing local wildlife or scenic trek through the forest – all within just a few short hours of Seattle.

Whether you’re looking for some fresh air or a festival devoted to the official vegetable of Washington (yes, that’s a real thing), there are plenty of adventures to be had right here in the Pacific Northwest. It’s time to grab your day pack and start exploring.

Clipper Recommends:

  • Instead of waiting for the elusive Mt. Rainier to make an appearance, head straight to the source, the national park itself. Hop on a tour of the glacier-carved peak and wander past wildflower-filled meadows and rushing waterfalls.
  • Cruise across Puget Sound to the Blake Island, the birthplace of Chief Seattle, for a Tillicum Village Salmon Bake to experience the Northwest’s tribal culture.
