Frequently Asked Questions     About Us

Check In and Boarding Procedure:

Passengers may check-in and get their boarding passes as well as boarding group number assignments up to 7 days before departure at the Seattle or Victoria terminal. Boarding group numbers are assigned on a first come, first serve basis so someone who checked in 5 days before their travel date will have an earlier boarding group than some one who checks in the day of departure. If passengers are traveling round trip and both legs of travel are within 7 days, we will issue boarding passes with boarding group assignments for both legs of travel.  Check-in is recommended one hour prior to departure, final boarding is 15 minutes prior to departure. For more information, see the Check-in/Boarding Procedures page.

Identification Requirements for Entering a Foreign Country:

For US and Canadian citizens, a Passport, Passport Card, Enhanced Driver License or an Enhanced ID Card (EDL/ID) is required to cross the US/Canadian border. If you are flying on either end of your trip, keep in mind that you will need to bring your passport because a Passport Card or EDL/ID is not valid for air travel. More information on crossing the US/Canadian border.

If parents are traveling with children under age 16 or infants, proof of citizenship is required for each child. This could be a Birth Certificate, Consular Report of Birth Abroad, Naturalization Certificate or Citizen Card. Also, if both birth parents are not traveling, you will need written authorization from parent/s or proof of custody or you may be denied entrance to Canada.More information on traveling with children.

Luggage, Bicycles and Pets:

Each passenger can check two pieces of luggage for free (that's right-no baggage fees!). We also check a limited number of bicycles for a $20 fee.  Bicycle space is limited, so we recommend reserving a space when you're booking your trip. For more information on luggage, bicycles and animals including how to bring extra bags, size and weight limitations for luggage and how to bring a pet, visit the Luggage, Bikes and Animals page.
