RESERVATION AGENTS – Customer Service and Sales (Seattle Waterfront)
The Victoria Clipper is looking for new Reservation Agents to join our team. We are looking for bright, upbeat and outgoing individuals who love working with people. Our ideal candidate is someone who is able to stay calm and cheerful in any situation and who thrives on a challenge.
Reservation Agents are instrumental in ensuring each customer has a fantastic experience! Agents answer incoming calls regarding sales and inquiries of all Clipper Vacations products, make passenger reservations and are responsible for checking-in passengers for all vessel departures, including ticketing and luggage handling. Various other duties, such as administrative support, cash handling and outbound calling is also part of the position. Agents must be knowledgeable about all Clipper products and able to maintain a stated level of sales. All Victoria Clipper employees are expected to provide a superior level of customer service to all patrons in all situations.
A qualified Reservation Agent candidate will:
- Have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including the ability to stay calm
in any situation
- Be able to multi-task and pay close attention to detail while working in a fast-paced
environment
- Have a proven sales ability. Sales is an integral part of this position
- Be willing and able to work any shift within the schedule shown below
- Have a stable work history
- Be able to work well as part of a close-knit team in a fast-paced environment
- Have professional phone experience, preferably with a multi-line phone or call center
setting
- Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Be a citizen of the U.S. or have the legal right to be employed in the U.S.
- Be able to read, write and speak English fluently
- Commit to work at least through Sept 3, 2012

Reservation Agents are scheduled 40 hours per week between the hours of 5:45 AM and 10:15 PM, seven days a week, including all holidays except December 25. Shifts may change from week to week and will include both weekend days. Shifts are assigned based on seniority, and Agents must be available to work any shift. The paid training class for new Reservation Agents will begin on March 12, 2012.
Wages during the training period are $9.04 per hour. After the successful completion of the training period (approx 5-6 weeks), wages will retroactively be paid to $12.50 per hour. Wages after training are $12.50 per hour plus commission. Agents with strong sales make an average of $2.50+ per hour commission. Parking/Transportation stipend of up to $100/month is provided after the training period. Overtime opportunities are available as needed. Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance and Paid Time Off are available after 3 months of employment. All positions are located in Seattle, WA.
