Langley Murder Mystery via Victoria Clipper III

Seattle, WA – January 16, 2012 — Once again, Clipper Vacations is offering an opportunity to cruise to Langley, WA, on Whidbey Island, to take part in their annual Langley Murder Mystery Weekend on Sunday, February 26th. The day begins with a scenic cruise to Langley, arriving about 10:00 am with plenty of time to enjoy one of their fine restaurants for a late breakfast before setting out to solve the mystery.

Each year, since 1984, the Langley Chamber of Commerce and local business owners have produced an “interactive” play which takes place all over the town. Those attending learn the details of a “murder” that has taken place and what possible “suspects” to watch for as you spend the day collecting clues from the local merchants, and talking to the actors roaming around the town. You then submit your guess of who may have committed the “crime”. It is all in fun and also allows everyone plenty of time to explore shops while gathering clues. This year’s theme is: “In Cold Mud" - Gold Fever Leads to Murder!

Those who just want to shop the quaint stores, and not actively participate can have fun watching the others. Some come with their Sherlock Holmes attire, complete with deerstalker hats, and give serious consideration to each and every clue. Most people will wander around, visiting shops, collecting clues and discussing over a leisurely lunch later in the afternoon.

At the end of the day, everyone is assembled back on board and a town representative and some of the characters and suspects will creatively reveal the “who done it”. Once the “murder” is solved, we return to the lights of Seattle via a relaxing evening cruise on the Victoria Clipper III. Boat departs at 8:45 am from Pier 69, returning to the Pier at 6:00 pm. Cost is only $54 for adults and $33 for children (ages 1 – 11) including tax, roundtrip from Seattle on Victoria Clipper, the Special Langley news packet and participation fees.
