Bald Eagle Skagit River Float Tour

Diablo Dam - Diablo Lake

View Bald Eagles in the wild as you raft down the calm waters of the Skagit River beneath the towering hills of the Cascade Mountains. Spawning Salmon means winter feeding for hundreds of eagles who migrate to the area to feed and in search for warmer weather. Your tour departs with a motor coach ride from Seattle to Marblemount, WA, located just 2.5 hours Northeast of Seattle, at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. Drift quietly by the eagles while enjoying comfortable rafts, with warm blankets (supplied) and hot chocolate served on board. As you drift down the lower Skagit, you will get the opportunity to watch the eagles perch in the cottonwood trees at the river's edge, just a few feet away. Be sure to bring your binoculars and camera.

Your day begins with a motor coach pick-up in Seattle, and you'll enjoy a continental breakfast basket en-route to Marblemount, a scenic 2.5-hour drive away. A tour escort will be onboard to provide a short narration and background information on the area you will visit. Upon arrival in Marblemount, you will be met by Blue Sky Outfitters' professional rafting guides and trained naturalists at the North Cascades getaway, an 8-acre property right alongside the Skagit River, where your boat and warm blankets will be waiting. After a brief safety demonstration, you'll don your life jackets, and set out for the day.

Diablo Dam - Diablo Lake

You will float down the Skagit River for approximately 2.5 hours, where you will get the chance to spot Eagles in their own habitat, just feet away on the river banks. As you float, you'll enjoy a cup of hot chocolate will be served onboard to keep you warm, and learn about these amazing birds from your tour guide. Along the way you will be taken in by the amazing scenery that surrounds you in this tranquil setting. You will notice how the eagles become more numerous as you continue down the river and float into the Preserve, where you might even see several birds all on one tree!

Following the rafting tour, you will be transported back to the starting location where you'll enjoy a home-cooked chili and clam chowder lunch by a roaring campfire - a perfect way to finish a winter afternoon!
